Kinatarcan Island – Basilica’s adopted mission area, the Island of Kinatarcan in northern Cebu, successfully celebrated the culmination of Flores de Mayo on May 28, 2017. Around 700 children and parents were gathered together at Brgy. Hagdan for a day of prayer and fun games in honor of Jesus’ mother, Mama Mary.

The children were glad recipients of the 600 packs of school supplies donated and prepared by various benefactors and volunteers, respectively.

Fr. Romeo Coronel, OSA, vice rector, led the delegation who visited all the way from Cebu City to distribute the school supplies. Children from other religious denominations were also recipients to these school supplies especially from the Aglipayan Church and Pentecostal.

At the start of the culmination, a holy mass was celebrated at the chapel of Brgy. Hagdan, wherein majority of the population are Catholics.
