Gospel: Lk 1:57-66 “The Birth of John“

Happiness is something that we share with others. It is an experience that you cannot keep for yourself or simply contain within and be silent about it. Instead, you want the whole world to know it; you want everybody to partake of it. This must have been Mary’s experience when she found out that she was soon to become the mother of Jesus. Thus, she rushed to her cousin, not only to verify if what the angel told her about Elizabeth’s pregnancy was true, but also to share her overflowing joy with her.
Life can be quite depressing, at times. The difficulties and problems that we encounter make us sad. But if we would allow God to fill our hearts with joy and remind ourselves that He is always with us, then we would always experience joy in our life.
