Gospel: Lk 3:1-6 “The Preaching of John the Baptist”

John the Baptist was a “voice crying out in the wilderness.” This pretty much reflects the situations in which many of us find ourselves in nowadays. As Christians, we are called to proclaim the Good News to others in whatever contexts they might be – within our respective families, in our work area, within our circle of friends, and so forth. And yet, the moment we speak of God, people tend to turn a deaf to us. Indeed, it is like crying out in the wilderness where no one cares to listen. However, this should not discourage us from carrying out our mission to preach the Gospel to all creatures, both at opportune and inopportune times. It takes a lot of courage and determination to do it. Let us not get tired of talking about God and bearing witness to Him!
