In celebration of the 1664th birth of Saint Augustine and the Commemoration of All Augustinian Saints, the Basilica Minore del Sto. Niño de Cebu (BMSN) had its Pakighimamat 2018 yesterday, November 13.
The activity started with a mass presided by Archbishop Osvaldo Padilla, DD, Apostolic Nuncio to South Korea.
Archbishop Padilla highlighted in his homily that the message of the life of Saint Augustine is the restless search for the meaning of life.
“I’m happy. We’re happy when we find true happiness in God.” He added.
After the Eucharistic celebration, the blessing of the Retablo of Relics was done.
The Retablo of Relics is an area situated at the left side of the church which is intended for the relics of the different Augustinian saints.
Pakighimamat 2018 was attended by the different friars and consecrated sisters of the Augustinian family in Cebu namely, the Order of Saint Augustine, Order of Augustinian Recollects, Order of Augustinian Discalced, Our Lady of Sorrows Sisters, Augustinian Sisters of Divine Love, Augustinian Sisters of Our Lady of Consolation.
