Enlightened with the theme, “St. Augustine: Teacher and Exemplar of Conversion”, the Basilica Minore del Sto. Niño de Cebu(BMSN) celebrates the Solemnity of Saint Augustine of Hippo yesterday, August 28, 2019.

Rev. Fr. Andres Rivera, OSA emphasized in his homily that we should be inspired by the works of St. Augustine.

“We pray, my brothers and sisters that we become followers of St. Augustine… that we will guide and be an inspiration to all who are in search for the truth, search for God and His dwelling place.” Fr. Rivera said.

The Order of Saint Augustine (OSA)- the caretakers of the Holy Child’s image- honors St. Augustine as the father of their congregation and all other Augustinian communities.

Last August 27, the Augustinian community also celebrates the solemnity of Saint Monica, St. Augustine’s mother and the Patron Saint of wives, mothers, conversions, alcoholics, and abuse victims.
