Experiencing it the C.A.M. Way

Euphoria- the perfect description I could give to what I feel upon joining the first leadership camp of the Creative Arts Ministry in Basilica Minore del Santo Nino de Cebu. A heart full of satisfaction and fulfilment lingers on my memory because of this unexpected moment in my life. I never thought this will come to me in the middle of busy schedules due to school works. I believe God plans this for me and I never regret any single time I spent during the camp. The camp simply brought me to the place where my core belongs.  It was indeed a fun-filled experience where I was able to get along with others sharing the same passion and advocacies, to help the youth ministry and the Basilica.

The leadership camp brought me to the reality of life. It widens my perspective about life that it’s not all about being wealthy financially but it’s about being wealthy spiritually. Life is not being a leader of your own desire but it is about creating an impact towards the lives of other people. This is an opportunity for me to share my God-given talents and express what my heart wants- to be a servant in the society. As I journey life, I want to explore things, go out of my comfort zone and reach out to the society.

As part of the youth ministry, it is a great privilege for me to be part of the Creative Arts Ministry because it makes me whole being a person. The ministry serves as a new family for me where it is composed of different individuals having the same goal and that is to serve the community.  This is a new environment for me and it’s good to see that I can feel the sense of belongingness in the ministry. Life may seem difficult but joining Creative Arts Ministry acquaints me on the brighter side of life and it is very evident during the leadership camp.

I started the leadership camp with a hassle feeling on all the deadlines I have to meet on my semester but I ended it feeling relieved because it cast all my worries and anxieties-from the newly found friends, the inspirational people I’ve met and the valuable life lessons I’ve learned.  My leadership camp experience of the Creative Arts Ministry may started a little bit foreboding but I’m still able to end it creating a beautiful story. I laughed. I cried. I got companions and I belong to a family. Truly I can say, genuine happiness sometimes cannot be found because sometimes it comes unexpectedly, like how I met Creative Arts Ministry. Analyn Conocono
