The pilgrim image of the Holy Child Señor Santo Niño de Cebu visited the Cebu City Medical Center (CCMC) today, January 4, 2019.

This hospital visit is part of the preliminary activities of the Basilica Minore del Santo Niño de Cebu (BMSN) for the upcoming Fiesta Señor 2019.

The Eucharistic celebration was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Luigi Kent Maria Martinez, a priest from Kawsa Ni Maria Community Center at Sambag 2, which also served as a welcome mass in honor of the Holy Child.

Rev. Fr. Martinez expressed his deep gratitude and happiness for it is his second time as presider of the welcome mass.

“It is an intense momentum to encounter the image of the Holy Child Señor Santo Nño. I am so grateful that I am chosen to be the mass presider.” Rev. Fr. Martinez said.

Doctors, nurses, and other CCMC staffs prepared for the visit of the Holy image through offering a traditional Sinulog dance upon the arrival of the image.

Bureau of Fire Protection – Regional VII (BFP-7) staffs and personnel also gave their full support and preparation for the coming of the pilgrim image.

After the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, the image of Santo Niño was brought inside the CCMC premise and vicinities including the Land Transportation Office (LTO), Bureau of Fire Department, Male/Female Surgical Ward, Male/Female Medical Ward, Out-Patient Department and at Integrated Emergency Room.

Despite the rainy weather, devotees remained faithful to their devotion to the Holy Child.

CCMC was filled with emotions wherein the patients and guardians were in tears as the image roamed around the different medical wards. /Analyn Conocono, USJ-R Communication Intern
