The rector, Fr. Pacifico Carloman Nohara, Jr., OSA was born in Pilar, Camotes Island, Cebu, on May 20, 173. He entered the novitiate of the Augustinian Province of Sto. Niño de Cebu-Philippines in 1998 and professed his religious vows on May 16, 1999. He continued his studies at the University of Santo Tomas for his theological formation and made his Solemn Profession on October 17, 2002. He was ordained to the priesthood on July 24, 2003.

Father Jun served the Province as a missionary friar to South Korea for 6 years. Among his ministry in Korea is to assist in the spiritual needs of the Filipino migrant workers and as formator of the Korean Augustinian seminary. In 2009, he came back to the Philippines and was assigned as formator at San Agustin Center of Studies in Quezon City. As formator, he accompanied students in college formation and stood as second father to the aspirants and postulants. At the age of 43, he was then assigned as the 104th rector of the Basilica in 2016 together with other 8 Augustinian friars.

One of the thrusts of Fr. Jun’s term as rector is to spread the devotion to the Sto. Niño all over the country and even abroad by establishing Cofradia del Sto. Niño chapters, the official lay confraternity of the devotion to Holy Child Jesus. As of 2017, at least 16 chapters had already been created through the support and collaboration of the Mother Chapter, whose seat is in the Basilica. In 2016, he installed 33 pioneering members of the created international chapter of Singapore.
