Readings for today

            1. All of us have been given gifts by God, albeit in varying degrees. Some are good in teaching, others are good in music, some are excellent pastoral workers, etc. It doesn’t really matter how many gifts or talents one has. What’s important is that one should discover, develop and put them at the service of the community. All gifts are not for purely personal use, and through our different gifts we can contribute to the good of the whole body. This is pretty much what Saint Paul tries to say when he presents the famous analogy of the human body in one of his epistles – many parts compose the human body and all of them are necessary for the over-all good functioning of the body. Thus, instead of envying others for their gifts, we should rather focus on our own.
