Readings for today

The cure of the ten lepers reminds us that we should always be grateful for the things that we receive from God. We cannot justify any ingratitude by saying that God is good, he was the one who created us and, therefore, it is his obligation to take care of us, shower us with blessings and be good to us. If we expect gratitude from those we have demonstrated some simple gestures of goodness to in this world, how much more we owe gratitude to God, who is infinitely good to us and who never fails to give us not only what is good, but what is truly best for us! Unfortunately, the sense of gratitude is becoming rare nowadays. Children, for example, are no longer thankful to their parents. Do we behave like ungrateful children to our heavenly Father?
