      1. The glorious return of Jesus has been the subject of much speculation notwithstanding the fact that the Lord explicitly said that nobody knows when the day will come. Once in a while people rise up depicting an imminent end of the world, pointing to particular signs in heaven or unexplainable phenomena in nature. They may be false prophets, but one good thing that comes out of their pretentious predictions is that some people do take them seriously and effectively end up preparing for the event. Readiness for the unknown return of Jesus should be a part of our daily attitude and behavior. We should never take things for granted and waste time, presupposing that the end will not come yet. We must rather be constantly vigilant, like the wise virgins in the Gospel waiting for the coming of the bridegroom.
