March 27, 2019 | Wednesday

Today’s Gospel

Jesus said to his disciples:
“Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets.
I have come not to abolish but to fulfill.
Amen, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away,
not the smallest letter or the smallest part of a letter
will pass from the law,
until all things have taken place.
Therefore, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments
and teaches others to do so
will be called least in the Kingdom of heaven.
But whoever obeys and teaches these commandments
will be called greatest in the Kingdom of heaven.”

Today’s Reflection

“Do not think that I have come to annul the law and the prophets but to fulfill them.”

In Today’s reading the importance of God’s law or commandment is emphasized. Jesus makes it clear that he come not to impose a strict law but the law of love. The law of God is the commandment of love that must be observed and as Christians we are being challenged to always keep them in our heart, obey and follow it and lead others to follow Him. Jesus wants us to be a part of His kingdom.
