Today’s Reflection
Gospel: Mt 6:1-6, 16-18 “Teaching About Almsgiving”
March 6, 2019 | Wednesday
“When you fast,
do not look gloomy like the hypocrites.
They neglect their appearance,
so that they may appear to others to be fasting.
Amen, I say to you, they have received their reward.
But when you fast,
anoint your head and wash your face,
so that you may not appear to be fasting,
except to your Father who is hidden.
And your Father who sees what is hidden will repay you.”
Today’s Reflection
Feelings and emotions are just too hard to contain when we accomplished and shown good deeds to others. Being proud of something good that we have done is not a problem at all however; too much satisfaction somehow causes unpleasant behavior. Human as we are, from time to time, want to inspire other people by telling them to do good deeds to others. However, being too proud sometimes vanish the real motivation which is to share and inspire. God wants to share something that is essential to our lives through the Gospel of today, the humility which Jesus Christ has shown. Let the praises of this material world blind us not as we journey the path of Christ. Let today’s Gospel inspire us to remain humble as we wait for the greater reward in heaven for all the goodness we have done in this world.
