Today’s Gospel

The Gospel for today reminds us that salvation is available to everyone. The image of the narrow door presented by Christ is a reminder that the availability of salvation must worked out in our lives. It works out through humility and surrendering to the grace of God. It is an assurance that we may be able to pass through the narrow door that Christ has given us toward salvation.

Today’s Reflection

On the feast of Saints Simon and Jude, the apostles, Jesus shows the significant principles of discipleship and calling. Before calling the twelve, Jesus went up to the mountain and prayed. It signifies that the calling is about discernment and relationship with God. And like the two apostles, discipleship is about faithfulness and commitment to follow Christ without hesitation and compromise.
