A Daughter’s Faith: A Heartfelt Hope | StoryaNiño

Maria Isabella, a devoted medical volunteer at the Basilica Minore del Santo Niño and a university student shares her heartfelt gratitude to the Holy Child for answering her prayers for her family’s well-being.

As children, we all hope to see our families—especially our parents—happy and harmonious. But life is not always smooth, and for Maria, things took a difficult turn in 2016 when, at just 15 years old, she witnessed constant conflicts between her parents.

Their frequent arguments left Maria deeply troubled. Feeling helpless, she turned to the one she believed could bring peace—Señor Santo Niño.

Maria, influenced by her mother’s unwavering devotion to Santo Niño, had built a strong faith in the Holy Child. When she was young, she often accompanied her mother to attend Mass and visit the Basilica.

Inspired by this devotion, Maria prayed earnestly, pouring her heart out and asking for just one thing: for her parents to find peace, even if it didn’t mean reuniting as a family. She wished for them to be okay.

After countless prayers and steadfast faith, Maria’s petition was heard. Over time, her parents found peace and harmony. The arguments ceased, and the family rediscovered happiness.

Filled with gratitude, Maria thanks the Holy Child for answering her prayers and bringing serenity to her family.

Maria’s story reminds us never to lose hope or faith in Santo Niño. “When you pray, dili immediately dayon i-hatag,” Maria says. “We just have to keep our faith and trust that Santo Niño will bless you, and grant your wish.”

May this inspire each of us: in the most difficult moments, faith and devotion can guide us toward the light we seek. /Maxine Severyn Cornejo, BMSN Media Centre student volunteer
