Today’s Gospel

Then the disciples of John came to him with the question, “How is it, that we and the Pharisees fast on many occasions, but not your disciples?” Jesus answered them, “How can you expect wedding guests to mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them? The time will come, when the bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then, they will fast.

Today’s Reflection:

Why do we fast? As followers of Christ, we fast to give God space in our lives so that we may find true happiness and joy with Him. We also fast so that we can be more available in responding to the needs of our brothers and sisters. May this season of penance and renewal be a time for us to practice the virtue of charity towards the least, the lost, and the last of our brothers and sisters in society. May the light of our good works be a beacon of joy and hope for them to see Christ in us in everything we do. /Vulnerasti, 2023
