Today’s Reflection
Gospel: Jn 19: 25-27 or Lk 2: 33-35

His father and mother wondered at what was said about the child. Simeon blessed them, and said to Mary, his mother, “Know this: your son is a sign; a sign established for the falling and rising of many in Israel, a sign of contradiction; and a sword will pierce your own soul, so that, out of man hearts, thoughts may be revealed.”
Today’s Reflection:
When Mary acceded to God asking her to give human flesh to His Son, she also agreed to help Him carry out the mission of redeeming humanity. Mary, as the representative of humankind, is a sign of hope that though man is weak, man is not without hope. But as the Son and the mother journey together to this same mission, they both have to endure so much: Christ on the Cross and Mary who stood at the foot of the Cross. Mary suffered with her Son in every respect. Her patient endurance was very well motivated that in all things God is in control. Trusting in God’s plan will surely make us bear all things. May we be like our Blessed Mother who had resigned/surrendered her everything to God, especially on days when our faith is tested? /Vulnerasti, 2023.
