Today’s Gospel

Yes, God so loved the world that he gave his only Son that whoever believes in him may not be lost, but may have eternal life. God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world; instead, through him the world is to be saved. Whoever believes in him will not be condemned. He who does not believe is already condemned, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.

Today’s Reflection:

The laws of God that were first stipulated on stones and handed over to Moses, specify the things that God desires and those that he abhors, goodness and sin, respectively. But these should not just be perceived as demands that need to be met to appease or avoid angering a punishing God. God mandates from us a life of holiness, not because He cannot accept us as we are, but because our true identity and dignity are anchored on being a part of His household, and of becoming more as His image and likeness. Being good and holy is not betraying our humanity, but expressions of loving God and ourselves more appropriately. /Vulnerasti, 2023
