Today’s Gospel

Do not give what is holy to the dogs, or throw your pearls before pigs. They might trample on them, and then turn on you and tear you to pieces. So, do to others whatever you would that others do to you: there, you have the law and the prophets. Enter through the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the road, that leads to destruction, and many go that way. How narrow is the gate that leads to life; and how rough, the road; few there are, who find it.

Today’s Reflection:

Most people are always drawn to a comfortable life. If one gets to choose between a challenging life and a comfortable one, surely most, if not all, will choose the latter for who does not wish to enjoy the good things in life? There is nothing wrong with pursuing a comfortable life in this world like what Lot did in the first reading. But as we discern which path to follow in the journey of life, make it a part of your discernment to identify which roads or decisions could lead you closer to God. If we find ourselves choosing the paths that go farther away from Him, let us also be like Lot who is willing enough to turn back and leave the comforts and pleasures that such a path offers. What matters most is to find ourselves reaching the kingdom of God. /Vulnerasti, 2023
