Today’s Reflection
Gospel: Mt 11: 25-27

Today’s Gospel

On that occasion, Jesus said, “Father, Lord of heaven and earth, I praise you; because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to simple people. Yes, Father, this was your gracious will.

Everything has been entrusted to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father; and no one knows the Father except the Son, and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.

Today’s Reflection:

In the gospel, Jesus gave thanks to the Father. His thanksgiving begins with a first-person declaration addressing God directly and ends with His reason for the praise and thanks— Jesus was thanking God the Father for revealing to the little ones what has been “hidden” from the wise and intelligent. In today’s prayer, Jesus also made a declaration about His special relationship to the Father and His willingness as Son to share that relationship with others. Jesus goes on to speak of the mutual knowledge existing between Himself and the Father. No other person, even including those who rely upon research and skill in religious matters, can know God the way Jesus does. The only way to attain such knowledge is through Jesus’ imparting of it as He wills.

What are the reasons of your thanksgiving to God? How would you describe your relationship with Jesus?   /Vulnerasti, 2023
