On June 12, 2019, 7 Augustinians were ordained to the priesthood at the Basilica Minore del Sto. Niño de Cebu.
This ordination is a blessing to the Order in the Philippines in the gift of vocation to the priesthood.
Those who were ordained were Rev. Fr. Ian Geoffrey Kasilag, OSA from Quezon City, Rev. Fr. Peter JOhn Cardos, OSA from Iloilo, Rev. Fr. Jubanie Rey Baller, OSA from Cebu, Rev. Fr. Freddie Billones, OSA, Rev. Fr. Mark Domasian, OSA from Sorsogon, Rev. Fr. Richard Bryan Mijares, OSA from Albay, Rev. Fr. Jaime Silvestre Parmisano, OSA from Bohol.
Most Rev. Osvaldo Padilla, DD, the Apostolic Nuncio Emiritus to South Korea and Mongolia and Titular Bishop of Pia, was the presiding bishop who imposed the hands and consecration prayer. Around 40 priests from the Augustinian province and the secular priests attended the sacred celebration together with Prior Provincial Rev. Fr. Andres Rivera, OSA.
The 7 new priests were already assigned in their respective assignments before their ordination. After some time, they will return to their assignments to continue their ministry, this time as ordained minister, in Surigao de Norte, Bayombong, and Sorsogon.
