Tagum City, Davao del Norte will be the venue of the 2017 National Convention of the Cofradia del Sto. Niño de Cebu. It is a 3-day activity that gathers the members of the Cofradia all over the country and even abroad. The exciting event that would happened from May 5 until 7, 2017 will be highlighted by a series of talks, reports and updating of Cofradia chapters and also socialization. Around 500 members will come together aiming to foster friendship and camaraderie and share further how the devotion to the Holy Child in the image of Señor Sto. Niño will be become more relevant in the call for new evangelization.

The pilgrim image of the Holy Child will also be brought together in this national convention and this is the second occasion that he will visit Tagum City since 2015. Another important note in this convention is the international delegation of the newly created chapter in Singapore, wherein in the last week of January 2017, the image was also brought into this southeast Asean country. Expected also to come are the more than 10 newly created chapters, which were established through the initiative of the new rector of the Basilica, Rev. Fr. Pacifico Nohara, OSA. At least 26 priests will accompany our delegates, who will serve as the chaplains for 3 days.
