Pope Francis blesses and venerates an image of Sto. Niño in Rome

Pope Francis and Sto. Niño

Early morning of February 20, 2021 – Rev. Msgr. Jan Thomas Limchua, a young Cebuano prelate who lives now in the Papal Household, at the Vatican City, Rome, Italy, presented the Holy Father, Pope Francis a Cebu-crafted image of Sto. Niño de Cebu which the monsignor brought from the recent Fiesta Señor in January 2021. The Holy Father readily recognized the image, blessed and venerated it. Mons. Limchua assured in his message along with these photos that as the image is close to the Holy Father so as the whole Filipino nation is being prayed for especially in this time of the pandemic and as we are about to celebrate the quincentennial of the coming of Christian faith in the country. The image will remain with Mons. Limchua who will endorse it to the Bisaya Community in Rome for the use of their Sinulog activities. Viva Pit Senyor!
