Today’s Gospel

I still have many things to tell you, but you cannot bear them now. When he, the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into the whole truth.

For he will not speak of his own authority, but will speak what he hears, and he will tell you about the things which are to come. He will take what is mine and make it known to you; in doing this, he will glorify me. All that the Father has is mine; for this reason, I told you that the Spirit will take what is mine, and make it known to you.

Today’s Reflection:

In our Gospel today, Jesus tells His disciples that “the spirit of truth will guide you into the whole truth.” This truth primarily leads us to grow in the knowledge and wisdom of God. In other words, this truth will help us understand where God wants to put us and what God wants us to do with our lives. By submitting to this truth, we become closer to Him and we love Him all the more. Even if we still encounter doubts, uncertainties and fears, Jesus is trying to tell us, “All these things will come to pass if you trust me because I have plans for you.” Trials and problems will still be there but the Holy Spirit will give us a better understanding of things. The Holy Spirit will enable us to see things in the light of God’s love for us. /Vulnerasti, 2022
