Today’s Reflection
Gospel: Matthew 7:7-12

Today’s Gospel

Ask and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened. For everyone who asks, receives; whoever seeks, finds; and to him who knocks the door will be opened. Would any of you give a stone to your son, when he asks for bread? Or give him a snake, when he asks for a fish? However bad you may be, you know how to give good things to your children. How much more, then, will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask him!

So, do to others whatever you would that others do to you: there you have the Law and the Prophets.

Today’s Reflection:

At least once in our lives, we must have heard of testimonies from people who attest that God answers prayers and even performs miracles. Nonetheless, stories of answered prayers may be plenty, but complaints against unanswered prayers and frustrations are also abundant. It is true especially whenever we confine our concepts of answered prayers to those that were responded with, “Yes!”, and when we view “No!” and “Wait!” as God’s non-responsiveness or an unwarranted delay of response. However, even “No!” and “Wait!” are also valid responses from God. These kinds of responses are also given for our own good. The problem with us humans is that place more importance on things that we don’t have than those we already have. We focus more on closed doors than the doors that God opens or leaves open for us. Let today remind us that everything we encounter in life is part of a greater plan that God has prepared for us; all we need to do is put our trust and faith in the Lord. /Vulnerasti, 2022
