Today’s Gospel

No one has ever gone up to heaven except the one who came from heaven, the Son of Man.

As Moses lifted up the serpent in the desert, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, so that whoever believes in him may have eternal life.

Yes, God so loved the world that he gave his only Son so that whoever believes in him may not be lost, but may have eternal life. God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world; instead, through him the world is to be saved.

Today’s Reflection:

To die on the cross could be the most humiliating and excruciating way of dying. But Christ experienced this to show us how the Father loves us so dearly. The cross is an instrument of death. Yet when Christ died on it, it ceases to be such for it has now been a symbol of life. From the Cross, life is given and remission of sin happened. The victory of life from death wrought on Calvary that day Christ died opened the gates of eternal life to humanity. This is the reason why we Catholic Christians exult in the Cross of Christ. We remember the romance of God and man. The love of God is so powerful that no amount of sin could ever make Him unlove us. /Vulnerasti, 2023.
