Today’s Gospel

Yet all those whom the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me, I shall not turn away. For I have come from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of the One who sent me.

And the will of him who sent me is that I lose nothing of what he has given me, but instead that I raise it up on the last day. This is the will of the Father, that whoever sees the Son and believes in him shall live eternal life; and I will raise him up on the last day.”

Today’s Reflection:

All Souls’ Day is a day dedicated by the Church for prayer for all the faithful departed. As the Lord assures us in the gospel that He remembers anyone who believes in Him, we remember also our departed brothers and sisters with our prayers for them to inherit eternal life.

But for us who are still on pilgrimage in this life, we are given this day to reflect on our own lives. How are we living our Christian life? Are we leading a life that is worthy of heaven? Admittedly, we are all struggling Christians. We still have a long way to go. As we go through life we face many challenges. So, we should not lose sight of our destination, that is, a life with God in heaven. That is the life that we want for our departed loved ones; the same kind of life that we want also to have on the last day.  While we still can, let us change and be better in the eyes of God. /Vulnerasti, 2022
